Controlled Substance Policy

We prescribe stimulant medications (such as Adderall, Vyvanse, Concerta, etc.) when clinically appropriate for the treatment of ADHD and Binge Eating Disorder. These medications are powerful tools, and with that comes responsibility.

As part of our controlled medication policy:

• Patients must attend regular follow-up visits, typically monthly

• We monitor vital signs, symptom changes, and screen for potential side effects or misuse

• We check the Arizona Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) before prescribing or refilling any controlled substances

• A Controlled Substance Agreement must be signed before initiating stimulant treatment

• Adult patients are required to complete a urine drug screening at a designated lab prior to starting stimulant or other controlled medications. Periodic re-screening may be required.

• We do not replace lost or stolen prescriptions, and early refill requests are never fulfilled
